I’d like you to meet Pez-a-Blings…

Posted by Catherine on April 2, 2009

…no projects for me to share with you today, but I think I have something EVEN BETTER!!!  I’m hyperventillating with excitement to be able to share these sneak peeks with you! *SQUEALS*

In regards to your projects, how would you like…

Baby Girl

…and SO MANY MORE!!!  I wanted to post them ALL up, but well, this isn’t called a sneak peek for nothin’!  I have to keep you at least a little bit in suspense!!!  But *SCREEEEEECH* DON’T YOU LOVE THEM LIKE I DO?!!?!?!  I want every single colour of those little babies!!! *BREEEEATHE*

These will be available for ordering on the Pez-a-Doodle site within the next few days so keep checking back and they start shipping as soon as APRIL 13!!!

If you’ve got a few moments, I’d LOVE to hear what you think of them!

In other non-Pez-a-Bling news, I got my High Hopes stamps last night! *jaw drops* WOW!  I have to be honest, I was getting just an eensy weensy bit anxious to get these stamps, but they were SO worth the wait!  As a thank you for the wait that I had to endure, they even threw in a bunch of extra stamps that I didn’t order! *sighs* Of course now would be the time in the week where I don’t really have the time to play around with them *pouts*

Anywho, that’s it for me today!  I’m sorry I don’t have any projects to actually share but I assure you that with big boss Marti at the helm, I’m doing a lot of background leg work in preparation for some AWESOME new things to come!  Those beautiful, wonderful, sparkling, shiny, YUMMALICIOUSLY AWESOME Pez-a-Blings are just the tip of the exciting iceburg that’s heading for Pez-a-Doodle Designs. *winks* You must stick around and see what we’re up to!

Of movies, tacos and everything else…

Posted by Catherine on March 9, 2009

…hellooooo there!  I’m sorry that I’ve been a bit behind on my posting, I promise, I’m not about to go MIA again, but if I’m also behind on my projects, that would explain why I have nothing to post…because I have nothing to share! *cries*

It’s been a pretty hectic week and it’s about to get crazier.  My oldest best friend is getting married this year and as part of her wedding party, we are throwing her a Stag & Doe and that’ll be going down on the 21st, as well there’s planning her bridal shower and doing all the matron of honour duties that is typically required of me.  With that, there’s about 4 people in my family who’s pregnant right now (there used to be 6 but my aunt and my sister-in-law have just had their babies!) and so of course there’s a lot of new babies, baby showers and baptisms going on, as well as everyone’ s birthdays coming up as well as my mom and I have a business that we run on the side – we do weddings as in we do flowers, decorations, giveaways  and my mom also sews bridesmaids dresses.  So far we’ve got two weddings coming up but we were already interviewed for hire a few more times than that, so that takes appointments and me as the manager of the business (ie. my mom just wants to create pretty things so I have to do all the paperwork, number crunching, etc.) I had to prepare quotes, etc.  With that my husband’s truck died three months ago so he has been using my car to make the hour and a half long commute to his job and I have been car-less for a while and relying on people to drive me around which drove me UP THE WALL CRAZY so we had to set aside time for truck hunting and try to figure out where we were going to get the money to actually pay for the darn thing once we find it (which we finally did over the weekend and I will be getting my car back this Tuesday!  *breathes*.  I totally forgot the point of this post….*LOL*

Oh right!  So with this week, I also got into a HUUUUUGE confrontation with the manager of a nearby Taco Bell who THOUGHT he could go up against me (he’s certainly learning now that he was absolutely NO MATCH *diabolical laughter here* MUAHAHAHAHAAAAA….) and that’s taken up quite a bit of my time speaking with the head of customer service in this devision, plus I’ve also been speaking with the CEO and some members of the board of directors for the company who actually OWNS Taco Bell and KFC locations in Canada – it helped (me, not the manager of that store) that Bart did ALL the electrical wiring of that particular location so he knew ALL the people I could contact).  Anywho….enough about that, let’s just say that nobody should EVER be treated the way that I was treated by anybody!

So all these loco situations has got me very busy and I’ve had NO time to play in my scraproom! *pouts*  To keep me sane and to keep Taco Bell managers on my good side, I need a certain amount of time in my scraproom!  *LOL*  Bart took me to see Watchmen yesterday and I am livid that that’s about two and a half hours of my life that I’ll never get back! UGH – that was the worst movie ever!  So from that moment, I’ve got 2.5 hours of banked scraproom time where he MUST take over the house and take care of Chewy and keep both him and Chewy out of my hair!

But I did get a little bit of crafty time in, even though it wasn’t paper crafting.  Feast your eyes on THESE babies:

I know you’re probably thinking, “big whoop, crochet flowers,” but these are a HUGE DEAL to me.  I started trying to learn how to make these about three weeks ago.  The first week, I threw the needles across the room and last week, I came dangerously close to tying a slipknot around my OWN throat and PULLING!  *LOL* Yes, I had that much of a hard time with them!  And in non-crafting news, I also got these:

*SQUEALS* They look exactly like the KaiserCraft pearls and rhinestones (probably made by the same manufacturer, I’d wager) but I got mine at my dollar store for $1! *BIG GOOFY GRIN*  I don’t know what I’ll use them for or, but they look so cute in their packaging!

It looks like that’s it for me today.  Thanks for letting me vent, I could go on about that confrontation forever, but well…eventually I’ll get over it, hopefully! *LOL*  I will be claiming my banked scraproom hours this evening so for sure I’ll have some projects to share with you this week!

If you are still debating about becoming a DT member, don’t forget that the DT call for Pez-a-Doodle Designs is up on Sunday, March 15th!    Scroll down for my previous post for more details or visit Marti’s BLOG for more info!

Thanks for taking the time to drop by and visit!

…before you pick up the phone and call 911 on my behalf, let me just make it clear that it is not a medical term and I am not in any kind of medical emergency! *LOL* Although it sure FEELS like it!

I have just completed my COPIC order!

I just could NOT pass this up – is having a MAJOR Copic sale! I pondered sharing this information with everyone because then maybe they’d be all sold out of the colours I had to leave behind when I’m ready to place my next order next week! HAHAHAHA…but you know I can’t keep secrets from you, so there it is! Un-freaking-believable! I’m not even going to say it…but I am SO excited! Especially since my Copic Certification application was accepted and all set and ready to go in March. How cool is it that I’ll get to bring my OWN COPICs? That is just awesome. Of course, now I’ll have to sell myself…HAHAHA, okay, I’m just kidding, I won’t take that sentence any further….just remembered that my mom subscribed to my blog last week…*giggles*

I can barely type my fingers are shaking! And I thought I was excited about the Nesties. This definitely takes the cake, tops the big one, puts the cherry on top, blah blah blah. It’s AWESOME! Take it from me, I have been looking all over for these, searching every single website I could find, price comparing, putting them in my cart, taking them out of my cart…etc., etc., I would definitely be the worst kind of silly if I let these pass me by without at least getting some! I am hoping that I’ll be able to place another order in the next week or so – heck, I’ll just keep trying until the price change takes place in March!

So take it from me and my ranting/raving – Oozak isn’t giving me anything extra to go on and on about them (although that would be a pretty good bonus…LOL) but I just can’t wait to get my hot little hands on these!

Don’t even ask me why I got Sketches and Ciaos…*LOL* I really like Sketch, but when I was placing my order, the numbers kept getting higher and I had to stop…until I remembered that Ciao’s are slightly less in price and I thought I’d be able to pick up some of the colours I left behind in the Sketch category. Ah well, it doesn’t matter, I’ll soon be able to find out and tell the difference myself.

Happy COPIC day, everyone!

…where, oh where are my wishes?! I’ve wished for SO many things since CHA (bad, enabling CHA!) and it has led to the accumulation of more things for me in the past week or so!

I thought it would be fun to look back at my earlier wish-lists when I first started papercrafting to see how far I’ve come…(or how broke I’ve gotten, whichever way you choose to look at it!)

My Wishlist #1
More cartridges – Paper Doll, Stretch, Alphalicious and Fabulous Finds and Doodle Charm being at the top – but really, I would say ALL of them
Nestabilities – Scalloped circles – both sizes, but again, I would say ALL of them
Cricut Expressions – I put this third on the list considering I haven’t even gotten my Baby Bug yet…I thought I would give it a fair chance before I start lusting after the E…
More Stickles – when they come in lots of different colours, well…then I want them ALL!
More Cuttlebug embossing folders – because you just need them ALL!
ATG – haven’t gotten the fever for this yet, but I know it’s only a matter of time…
Design Studio – from what I’ve heard so far, it sounds a bit intimidating, but I shall CONQUER it…once I get it…
STAMPS! – Penny Black, Stampendous, House Mouse and basically ALL those cute little stamps everyone seems to have! But I could always use more!
Secret Sister – Lurking the secret brother/sister boards is like how people can’t get enough of reality shows. I love looking through and looking at all the fabulous things everyone is getting. I haven’t signed up yet because I want to make absolutely sure I’ll be able to devote 100% to it, but everyone is just so great.
Random stuff – so I can be ready for a secret sister and also so I can start doing some RAKs!

Wishlist #2
More carts – Walk in my Garden (is that what it’s called?)
Nestabilities – mostly the small and large scalloped circles
Cricut Design Studio
Cricut Expressions
Radiant Rain (or distress inks and perfect pearls to make my own) Unnecessary
Distress Inks
Perfect Pearls
Twinkling H20’s
Mini Misters
MORE stamps (I think I’ve been able to acquire quite a few Studio G stamps and some House Mouse – but you can never have enough stamps!)
MORE paper (different textures – I think Bazzill is quite popular?)
More random things like stickers and embellies, etc. for RAKs (I must learn to not want to keep them all the time!)

*LOL* Well, it looks like I”m doing a pretty good job on getting things crossed off my checklist! Obviously there are things there that I didn’t really have to scratch off, because, I mean…when do you REALLY have enough stamps? NEVER! Same goes for paper and fun little embellies! And now, especially after seeing the new releases at CHA, my list of course has gotten longer even though I’ve managed to cross a few things off! It’s a bitter, never-ending cycle – only bitter because I have no money! HAHAHAHA…

But besides buying things and getting a little bit of crafting in, here’s a little progress on my scraproom overhaul:

Ooooh!!! Doesn’t it look so PRETTY!!! I feel just as contrary as Mary with all my Stickles all in a row!

The top shelf is my little mason jars full of embellies from the dollar store. Second and third rows are all my glitter-anythings…Stickles, Martha’s, Studio G‘s…so PRETTY! The other rows are my acrylic dabbers, distress inks and powders, crackle paints, and Studio G ink pads – all from Marti over at Pez-a-Doodle Designs!

Oh, wherefore art thou…

Posted by Catherine on February 3, 2009

…MONEY? But shopping, oh how I’ve MISSED YOU! It’s been too long…but I can see that I have made up for it in only a couple of days! Ay-yay-yay…

CHA is such an enabler…but here we go:

*SQUEALS* Do you SEE THOSE?! Those, my dear friends, are NESTABILITIES! Do you know how long I’ve been wanting these? And now, I’m finally getting them!

After seeing the Spellbinders booth and seeing the demos, I knew they were a must-have-now. I’ve been holding off on them for so long thinking that I could do what they can do myself, but it’s just not the same. I’ve seen how great they can make any project look. So nice and cleanly embossed lines or pretty little scallops. What took me so long? (Well, I know why it took me so long…but Terri aka terrikrafts from The Board is making it SO easy. I wish I had met her sooner. She is such a doll to deal with and she actually took the trouble to weigh my entire order and then each one separately to see which would be the most economical in shipping! Plus, you just can’t beat her prices! I’ve got her contact information if you’re looking for it – don’t hesitate to ask, I don’t bite! So that’s my first order from her and she’s getting the new ones in as well, and oh my-my-my, do I need to get a few more jobs! *LOL*

Okay…and then there’s:

Oh, I want to go home now and play! But there it is: flock assortment FOR ME! Fuzzy hearts, duckies and flowers, here I COME! I can’t WAIT to try this out…it’s a miracle I haven’t opened the package already, but I’m right in the middle of a complete scraproom overhaul that I would totally lose them if I even tried to take them out of their package now. But like I’d like to believe, all the best things are worth the wait, and it’ll definitely be worth it to wait until my scraproom is spic and span and beautiful to start making MORE fun things in it (and probably more mess, but who am I kidding, we all know that…)

So fun new goodies just WAITING to be used and turned into prettiful creations, but for now, I leave you with my scraproom “before” pictures *winces*:

But ask me to find something for you and I’ll have it *snaps* just like that! *LOL*
